Practical mechanical design, 3D CAD and engineering support—from process equipment and bespoke machinery through to manufacture.
What we do
ETTLER brings hands-on manufacturing experience to mechanical design. The result is clear thinking, robust detail and designs that work beyond the screen.
Capability
Concept development, equipment layouts and detailed design shaped around how your product will actually be made, assembled and maintained.
↗Production-ready models, assemblies, manufacturing drawings and bills of materials with the detail your workshop needs.
↗Jacketed vessels and process pipework layouts developed around production, access, installation, cleaning and maintenance requirements.
↗Practical design reviews that reduce complexity, expose risk early and turn difficult ideas into dependable engineering.
↗Heavy-duty and below-floor conveyors, bespoke chip bins, modular high-pressure coolant tanks, pumps, filtration and complete swarf-management systems.
↗Structured BOMs, MRP system workflows and delivery planning that help keep engineering information, purchasing and manufacture aligned.
↗How we work
Clarify the problem, operating environment and measures of success.
Explore practical concepts and make the important decisions early.
Build the CAD, drawings, BOMs and documentation needed for manufacture.
Hand over a considered design with clear outputs and responsive support.
Engineering experience
Founded by Luke Atkinson, a Senior Design Engineer with more than 12 years of experience taking bespoke industrial equipment from brief to installation.
Luke’s early experience included designing jacketed process vessels and jacketed pipework for food-manufacturing projects associated with organisations including Nestlé, Fox’s and McVitie’s, alongside smaller producers.
Within the machine-tool sector, his work includes a roughly 45-metre below-floor conveyor system for Yamazaki Mazak UK, collecting swarf from four CNC machines and transporting it to an external skip. He has also designed heavy-duty conveyors, bespoke chip bins, modular high-pressure coolant tanks and complete swarf-management systems.
His designs have formed part of installations within BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce facilities, as well as other marine and aerospace manufacturing environments. He also works extensively with bills of materials, MRP systems and delivery planning to connect design decisions with purchasing, production and project deadlines.
Our name
ETTLER is drawn from an old northern word: ettle—to aim, plan or design. It reflects an approach to engineering where every decision has a reason and every detail has a purpose.
